Back in 1950 Joseph Gelbard established GILRO factory in Jerusalem. Initially he made his name in making Ice cream cones and then moved into baking wafers (which is why our cones and wafers taste so good!). The family business then expanded in the purpose of serving the ice cream industry and the retail market offering a wide selection of products for ice cream shops and home use.
As pioneers in the industry, we had decided to take the production to the next level and moved to a new facility where we could upgrade to better and modern production capabilities.
Dr. Wafer brand began with a vision: to serve people with special nutritional needs.
As a family business with heritage and a reputation, we have a strong foundation on which to continually build and progress. Our knowledge and experience in the industry together with our long standing customer relationships enables us to find solutions to help serve your business at a higher level. We are constantly reviewing our products and services with the objective of offering our customers the best of the best.
Our target is to offer all our products suitable for special dietary requirements such as gluten free, lactose free and sugar free. Also we offer all our products as Organic for consumers which prefer to support organic and sustainable farming methods that avoid GMO's and chemical pesticides.
